First Generation (2004-2006)
The first genration was first introduced in the model year 2004 as 2005 variant. The sales of the model began from the final season of 2004.
Second Generation (2007-Present)
The model is totally redesigned in the model year 2007. The wheel base of the model remains same, but it is longer by 3 inches.
It has the wheel base of 97.6 inches, length of 169.7 inches, height of 58.9 inches and width of 57.1 inches. The four-door hatchback models released during this period are called as Aveo5. The major competitors to the model are Toyota Yaris, Kia Rio, Honda Fit and Hyundai Accent.
The key features in the model include maneuverability and fuel economy rates. On the other hand, vehicle handling and acceleration are considered as main drawbacks.
The only engine available to the 2009 model include a DOHC 1.6 liter I-4 version that delivers power up to 103 hp at 6000 rpm and torque of 107 lb ft at 3600 rpm. The available transmissions to the engine include standard 5-speed manual and optional 4-speed automatic.
With the I-4 engine, the current generation SUV model can achieve fuel economy of 27 miles per gallon in the city premises and 37 miles per gallon on the highway roads.
2011 Chevy Aveo
2011 Chevy Aveo concept’s dash are based on similar lines of styling cues of the larger 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, including several noteworthy features such as the gauge styling down to the vents that flank the center stack of controls.
New Aveo and Cruze may share the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will deliver 138 hp.
